What is a GIF?
GIF is an old image format that can animate. It works nearly everywhere, but only has 256 colors.
Why GIFs are so heavy
Each frame is stored as a separate picture, with old compression. Short clips are fine, long ones aren't.
Keeping them small
Fewer seconds, fewer frames and a narrower width each help.
