Why your iPhone photos are HEIC

iPhones use HEIC because it saves space. The problem is that many websites, forms and older computers can't open it. JPG works nearly everywhere.

How to convert HEIC to JPG on a phone or a computer

On an iPhone, open this page in Safari and choose Files, because the Photos picker may convert photos by itself. On Windows or a Mac, drop the files onto the page. The same steps apply to any number of photos, up to the limit.

Formats and limits

It'll take 50 files, 100 MB each and 300 MB in all. On phones the limit is 25 files. Decoding HEIC is heavy work, so a big batch can take a little while on a phone.
