Accepted: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .avif, .heic, .heif. Up to 50 files, 100 MB each, 300 MB in total.

Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to compress an image

  1. Add your images.
  2. Pick a level, set your own quality, or type a target size in KB.
  3. Press Start, check the size, and download.

What each level does

Light keeps photos close to the original. Balanced saves more, and also limits images to 3000 pixels on the longest side. Strong suits tough limits, at 1800 pixels. Custom lets you set the quality and a maximum width. Target size finds the best quality that fits your limit, and makes the image smaller only if it has to. If a file can't get smaller, we give you back the original.

Why PNG may change format

PNG is lossless, so it barely compresses. To make a real difference, a solid PNG is saved as JPG, and one with transparency as WEBP. We'll tell you when that happens.

Formats and limits

It'll take 50 files, 100 MB each and 300 MB in all. On phones the limit is 25 files. It takes JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF and HEIC, and you can keep the automatic format or choose JPG or WEBP.

Questions people ask

How small can it go?

It depends on the image. Photos shrink far more than simple graphics. Choose Target size to aim for a number, such as 200 KB.

Will I see a difference?

On Balanced, rarely at normal size. On Strong, you may when zooming in.

Is there a daily limit?

No.
