How to add page numbers to PDF files
- Add your PDF.
- Choose the position, the style and the first number.
- Press Start and download the numbered file.
Position and style
Numbers can sit at the top or bottom of the page, on the left, in the center, on the right or in the outer corner. Outer corners switch sides from one page to the next, so they stay on the outside of a printed booklet. Styles include 1, 1 / 20, - 1 -, Page 1 and Page 1 of 20, and you can set the size and color.
Cover pages and starting numbers
Choose to skip the first page, and your cover stays clean while numbering begins on page two. The starting number helps when a file continues another one: start at 41 if chapter three follows forty pages.
Landscape and rotated pages
Each page gets its number the right way up, even in a file that mixes portrait and landscape. Numbers are real text in Helvetica, 11 points unless you change it, and the Arabic word for page uses Noto Naskh Arabic. They're added on top of the page, so check the result if your content runs right to the edge.
Formats and limits
It takes one PDF up to 300 MB, or 100 MB on a phone. Password-protected files need the password removed first. Everything else in the file stays untouched, including links and form fields.

Can I leave the first page without a number?
Yes. Set Skip the first page to Yes.
Can I number only some of the pages?
Yes. Tap the pages in the thumbnails or type them, such as 3-20. Counting starts at your first number on the first chosen page.
Will the numbers change my document?
Only by adding the numbers. Text, images and page size stay as they were.
Can I remove the numbers later?
Not with Rivmu, so keep your original file.
